Mission Statement:
The Autoseum’s vision is inspired to preserve and exhibit the most famous movie, TV and custom cars in the world. It will be an instituition of learning teaching the craftsmanship involved in a highly desirable field by educating disadvantaged young people in the creation of functional art in a hands-on environment.
This unique auto-based museum will also house an information hub on alternative 21st century fuels, be an industry, commerce and community center and offer the development of the car of tomorrow in a family-oriented atmosphere.

The Committee for the Autoseum's premier event, which received stunning publicity from the major network affiliates at NBC, CBS and FOX (see www.Autoseum.org for video) in New York, has announced plans to take their not-for-profit organization to museums and other facilities where it will continue showcasing the most famous cars ever created.
The Autoseum's goal is the preservation of the world's most famous movie and TV cars and the formation of a one-of-a-kind industry, community, educational facility as well as hub for disseminating information on alternative, earth-friendly fuels.
With the added support of print media, the world's most famous car, the iconic original Batmobile, appeared on the cover of Newsday's "Explore Long Island" prior to the event later thrilling the packed house of 22,000 visitors. Nassau County BOCES also added its support to the event held on August 23 and 24, 2008 at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City which hosted the show.
Several celebrities, including the King of Kustom cars and creator of the famous cars, Hollywood legend George Barris, Butch Fitzpatrick known as TV's Little Eddie Munster, the DJ Chef Marc Weiss, Playboy and Victoria's Secret models, were on hand.
A dazzling palette of celebrity cars were displayed including the Monkee-mobile, James Bond's Silver Aston-Martin bearing the license plate 007, two Triple x-X-x GTOs, the General Lee, Drag-U-la, Knight Rider, Ghostbusters and Starsky and Hutch. Also, a beautiful burgundy 1963 Buick Villa Riviera with a white landeau roof from the movie "For Those Who Think Young" starring James Darrin and Nancy Sinatra wowed the crowd as it glistened between two jet aircraft in the hanger where it was displayed. |

During the weekend long event, the front entrance of the Cradle of Aviation showcased a sleek and monstrous 30-foot black, luxury limo called the Winged Phantom displayed in the U.S. for the first time at this event. Also, Wounded Warrior and Ed Wilko display-ed a custom built high performance race car running on a hemi with a blower that shook the sidewalk to the delight of scores of onlookers.
Additionally, hundreds of antique, muscle and specialty cars and trucks shimmered under the August sun in the parking lot in an amazing custom car show featuring a surprise guest, Chuck Zito, from the TV show "Oz." His spectacular 1957 Chevy was one of many show favorites. Approximately 20 trophies were awarded in conjunction with "Long Island Rides Magazine."
The Committee for the Autoseum, a 501-3-C nonprofit, is inviting community and industry leaders, educators and corporate sponsors to assist in creating a hands-on museum and vocational center in the NY/Tri-state area.

Long Island’s Autoseum to Unite Movie, TV & Custom Cars in an Educational, Vocational, Community and Industry Center
June 26, 2008, New York, NY - George Barris, King of Kustom Cars and his East Coast representatives, Andy Perillo and Mike Manning of NY Custom Coach, creators of the Batmobile and the world's most popular one-of-a-kind movie and TV cars have announced the establishment of The Committee for the Autoseum slated to create a Long Island based museum for the preservation of the famous cars and to educate future generations.
After decades of establishing an exciting, dynamic and successful track record producing high profile movie, TV and classic car shows and on the heels of their latest event in Canada where in excess of 35,000 visitors and thousands of cars attended a spectacular event, NY Custom Coach, is preparing to take the industry into the future with this August 2008 event.
The Autoseum, a not-for-profit organization, will be raising funds by showcasing some of the world's most famous movie, TV and unique cars at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City, NY on August 22nd (media only), 23rd and 24th, 2008 and more.
This event will feature a custom car show, family fun including rides, vendors, prizes, some of LI best psychics seen at Court TV's Guinness Book of Record PSYCHIC DETECTIVE event, live entertainment, Playboy an d Victoria Secret models, etc. as well as a tailgate dinner party with George Barris after the car show closes on Saturday night.
The creation of the Autoseum will incorporate restaurants, retail shops, a catering hall, theme parties, weddings, press conferences, the arts, media, celebrity and corporate events as well as serve an interactive community center featuring a showcase for the public that is a vocational, educational and industry center.
The Autoseum itself and this event will merge industry leaders, media, dealers, educators, the community, commerce, business leaders, etc. and offer something for everyone, especially young people, and is the foundation for an exciting one-of-a-kind hands-on Hollywood, industry and educational facility in the New York metropolitan and Tri-state area.
